Through strategic partnerships with other government programs and private philanthropists, the Conservation Bank is able to leverage its grant awards to achieve the highest "bang for the buck". This collaborative approach ensures that taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and effectively to protect South Carolina’s most treasured landscapes and preserve our natural heritage for future generations.
The following facts and figures illustrate how the Bank fulfills these objectives. One key strategy involves awarding reimbursable grants, allowing a portion—or even the entirety—of awarded grant funds to be returned and reinvested in future conservation projects. To date, over $33 million has been recouped through this approach.
